Our AML and Verification Policy
This page sets out, in plain terms, how Cazzino Slots meets its anti-money-laundering (AML) duties and verifies the identity of every player. We hold licence 8048/JAZ2023-065 from the Curacao eGaming Authority, and the checks described here are licence conditions, not optional extras.
How We Fight Money Laundering
Money laundering is the attempt to make criminally obtained funds look legitimate, often by moving them through gambling accounts. Since our launch in 2023, we have operated under licence 8048/JAZ2023-065 issued by the Curacao eGaming Authority, and that licence binds us to the authority's anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing regulations. We treat those regulations as the minimum standard for our platform, not a ceiling.
In practice this means we must know who our players are, where their funds come from, and whether their betting pattern fits their stated profile. We appoint a nominated compliance officer responsible for the AML programme, train our staff on reporting obligations, and keep records that a regulator can audit at any time. If we identify a transaction we cannot reasonably explain, we are legally obliged to report it through the correct channel and we may not tell you that a report has been made.
- Customer due diligence at registration and before the first withdrawal
- Ongoing monitoring of deposits, withdrawals and play patterns
- Source-of-funds checks where the money does not fit the profile
- Suspicious activity reporting to the relevant authority
- Record keeping for the period required by our licence
When We Verify Your Identity
Verification points
We verify every player, and we do it in stages rather than all at once. Basic identity checks run at registration: your name, date of birth and address are screened against sanctions lists and politically-exposed-person databases before your account is activated. Full document verification is triggered by your first withdrawal request, whichever method you use, because the minimum withdrawal is £10 and even that amount must reach the right person.
We may also verify earlier or again later if your activity crosses certain thresholds or your pattern of play changes sharply. Verification is never a punishment; it is how we prove that the account holder, the payer and the payee are the same person.
| Document type | What we accept | What it proves |
|---|---|---|
| Photo ID | Passport, driving licence or national ID card | Your identity and date of birth |
| Proof of address | Utility bill, bank statement or council tax bill issued in the last 3 months | Where you live |
| Payment method | Photo of the card (middle digits covered), bank statement or e-wallet screenshot | That you own the deposit method |
Our Verification Step by Step
Verification runs from the Profile section of your account. Upload clear, uncropped photos or PDFs of each requested document, making sure all four corners and the full document are visible. Our compliance team reviews submissions manually, and most checks are finished within 24 hours; complex cases that need extra screening can take up to 3 business days. We will email you the result either way, and you can track status in your account at any time.
- Log in and open the Verification tab in your profile
- Select the document type requested and upload the file
- Our team reviews it, usually within 24 hours
- If anything is unclear, we contact you by email with specifics
- Once approved, your withdrawal is released for payment processing
- E-wallet withdrawals arrive within 24 hours after approval; card withdrawals take 3 to 5 business days
How your documents are protected
Documents are stored on encrypted servers with access restricted to the compliance team on a need-to-know basis. No support agent, marketing system or third-party partner can view them. We use the data only for identity, payment and regulatory checks, and we never sell or share it for commercial purposes.
Why We Ask for Source of Funds
Source of funds means proving where the money you deposit actually comes from: salary, savings, pension, property sale, inheritance or business income. We request it when your deposits are materially higher than the profile you have given us would suggest, or when a single deposit or a short series of deposits reaches a level set by our internal risk rules. A player who deposits a four-figure sum in a week after months of £20 sessions will hear from us.
Acceptable evidence is ordinary paperwork: payslips, a bank statement showing salary credits, a tax return, a solicitor's letter for an inheritance or a completion statement for a property sale. We ask because our licence obliges us to, and because gambling with money you cannot lawfully account for damages you as much as it damages us. Documents you send for this purpose are handled with the same confidentiality as your ID.
How We Monitor Your Transactions
Deposits and withdrawals
Every deposit and withdrawal on our platform passes automated screening before it is processed. The screening flags unusual velocity (many deposits in a short window), structuring (amounts just under a reporting threshold), deposits from payment methods that do not match the verified account name, and rapid deposit-to-withdrawal cycling with little actual play. Flagged transactions are reviewed by a human before any funds move.
Withdrawals follow the same-method rule: money goes back by the route it came in wherever technically possible. If you deposited by Visa Debit, we pay to that card; if you deposited by Bitcoin, we pay in Bitcoin. The minimum for both deposits and withdrawals is £10, and each withdrawal is capped at £10,000 per transaction. Where a mixed-method balance exists, we may split the refund proportionally, and we will explain the split before processing.
| Method | Direction | Timing after approval |
|---|---|---|
| Skrill, Neteller, Trustly | Deposit and withdrawal | Up to 24 hours |
| Visa Debit | Deposit and withdrawal | 3 to 5 business days |
| Bank transfer | Withdrawal | 3 to 5 business days |
| Bitcoin | Deposit and withdrawal | Up to 24 hours, network dependent |
What Happens If Verification Fails
If your documents are missing, expired or do not match your account details, we suspend the withdrawal (not the deposit function) and tell you exactly what we need. You keep access to your account and your balance; the money simply cannot leave until the check is complete. You have 30 days from our request to respond, and our support team is available 24 hours a day at [email protected] if anything in the request is unclear.
If the 30 days pass without adequate documents, or if the documents show that the account was opened with false information, we close the account. Where we suspect the account is being used to hold or move funds for a third party, we freeze the balance and report to the Curacao eGaming Authority; seized funds are handled strictly per the authority's instructions. Genuine mistakes are different: an expired licence or a smudged bill just means you resubmit, and we will always give you that chance first.
- Missing or unclear documents: withdrawal held, request repeated with specifics
- No response within 30 days: account closed, remaining balance returned to the verified source method
- Deliberately false information: account closed and balance frozen pending regulator guidance
- Suspected third-party use: immediate freeze and report, no exceptions
How Long We Keep Your Documents
We retain your verification records for five years after your account closes, or five years after the last transaction on an open account, whichever our licence requires us to apply to your case. This is not our choice; it exists so that a regulator or law-enforcement body investigating financial crime can reconstruct what happened long after the fact. When the retention period ends, documents are securely destroyed and you can request confirmation of that destruction at any time by writing to our support address.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to verify my account before I can deposit?
No. Registration screening is automatic and you can deposit and play straight away. Full document verification is triggered by your first withdrawal, or earlier if your activity crosses our risk thresholds.
How long does verification take?
Most submissions are reviewed within 24 hours. Complex cases that require additional screening can take up to 3 business days, and we email you the outcome either way.
Can I withdraw to a different method than I deposited with?
As a rule we pay withdrawals back to the method the funds came from, in line with the same-method rule. If that is technically impossible, we pay by bank transfer to an account verified in your name.
What happens to my documents after verification?
They are stored on encrypted servers, accessible only to our compliance team, and retained for the period required by our Curacao licence before secure destruction.
Why was my withdrawal suspended?
The most common reasons are a pending document check, a mismatch between the payment method name and your account name, or a source-of-funds request on larger deposits. We always state the reason by email, and you can ask our 24/7 support team for details.
